Students in CBIT are required to hold themselves accountable for their work, this is to have a strong sense of personal responsibility and integrity. This expectation is implemented so that every student ensures the highest quality of work, and continues striving for improvement.

Eligibility Requirements
The Consulting Academy’s application process is designed to select and develop exceptional, driven students from all majors and years who have completed at least their first semester at SDSU.
Eligibility Criteria:
To join CBIT’s consulting academy, students must:

- Be an undergraduate student enrolled at SDSU in good academic standing.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative and SDSU GPA of 2.8.
- Provide a recommendation from a faculty member who has taught or worked with them directly.

How It Works: Enrollment Process
The Consulting Academy’s enrollment process is simple and prepares students for impactful consulting projects:
- Submit Your Application: Apply during the enrollment period, starting about six weeks before each semester. Early submissions get priority. Share your background, goals, and interests.
- Initial Outreach: After review, a CBIT Consultancy Club member will contact you for an interview to understand your skills and aspirations.
- Workshop Attendance: Attend a workshop to learn about the program, its culture, and how it solves business challenges.
- Project Matching and Final Decision: You’ll be matched to a project based on your skills and goals. Acceptances are sent after this review.
When Assigned to a Project
Once assigned, here’s what happens:
- Onboarding: Meet your faculty lead, team members, and client. Get clear on the project’s goals and deliverables.
- Collaboration: Work with your team and faculty lead on research, brainstorming, and problem-solving.
- Weekly Check-Ins: Attend regular meetings to track progress and adjust your approach.
- Deliver Results: Present your solutions to the client and gain experience in professional delivery.
- Reflection: Receive feedback and reflect on your work to identify areas for growth.
- This process ensures you gain hands-on experience while contributing to real-world business challenges.
